Tents shelter people in earthquaker-stricken areas in China

On May 12th , 2008, the devastating  magnitude-7.8 earthquake happened in Wenchuan county, Sichuan province,PRC. Over half areas of China suffered the shaking. Lots of people across many provinces could feel the earthquake.
The death toll has climbed to nearly 10,000 in the harder-hit area, Sichuan province.
To shelter people from their destroyed houses, the tents and canopies became the necessities in the disaster areas.

Photograph 1:  On the afternoon of May, 12th, some citizens in Jiangbei district of Chongqing (one of the municipalities directly under the Central Government) set up tents as the temporary shelter in the greenbelt of community area. (Photo by Yang Lei, Xinhua reporter)
 
 
 
Photograph 2 and 3: On May, 12th, after the earthquake broke in Wenchuan county, some hospitals in Chengdu, Wenjiang city etc (near the epicenter) transfer patients to open areas and apply solar shading umbrellas to shelter them from wind and sun.

On May, 12th, Zhengzhou railway Bureau launched plans for the emergency supplies, i.e. got disaster relief vehicles together rapidly in Zhengzhou East Railway station to overnight load the relief tents, which was expected to arrive at the destinations within 24hours. After the earthquake, the state Office of Emergency disaster relief supplies transported 10,000 tents from Henan Province to aid the masses of disaster-stricken areas. Guangxi 10000 tents and 5000 stretchers be transported to disaster-stricken areas of SIchuan
The 10,000 tents that Guangxi civil administration Office allocated on May,13th and 5000 stretchers that Guanxi station troops transported left Nanning railway station at 11:00 on 13th on time to the earthquake-stricken areas in Sichuan.
 
Xiao Zhi long, official of Civil administration Office in Guangxi, said, from 20:30 on May, 12th night, through more than 200 staffs overnight working, 10,000 tents had been loaded to the trucks On 13th morning, and finished the deployment mission of  the National Civil Ministry in time.
 
Meanwhile 5,000 stretchers transported by Guangxi station troops also finished loading. Li Qing fa, Political Commissar of No. 76141 army in Guangzhou Military Region, said, after receiving command from higher authorities at am 5:00 on May, 13th, they organized a force of more than 100 soldiers to load the 5,000 stretchers, and in just over five hours, they had finished the work. 

Xiao Zhi long said, the railway sector will transport these relief supplies to Sichuan at fastest rate, which are expected to arrive in the disaster-stricken areas within 48 hours.
 
News from Guangxi Red Cross sources reported on 12th night, Red Cross would immediately send an urgent proposal letter to Guangxi masses, calling for extending helping hand to donate funds to Sichuan disaster areas. (Reported by Jiang Xue lin).
 
China Charity Association allocated 400 tents and emergency money 1 million RMB to aid the disaster areas in Sichuan
 
May 13th news, Xinhua Network Beijing (reported by Li Fei): to guarantee the production and life of victims in the earthquake-stricken area of Sichuan and assist the government in relief work, China Charity Association decided to allocate 400 emergency tents and 1 million RMB to aid the Sichuan disaster areas.
